Event Details

June 2nd - Noon to 4PM

We hope you will join us on Sunday, June 2nd from NOON to 4PM (rain date June 9th) as we celebrate LGBTQIA+ Pride in South Brooklyn. Pride Month honors the movement for LGBTQIA+ rights and celebrates queer culture.

Owl’s Head Park

Start Pride month in South Brooklyn at Owl’s Head Park. Our annual Pride picnic takes place on Pride Hill, overlooking scenic New York City Bay. Take the NYC Ferry to Pier 69 or the R train to Bay Ridge Ave.

LGBTQIA+ Community

Bring your beach blankets and your favorite South Brooklyn takeout, and enjoy a beautiful day outside with fellow GayRidge members, friends, and family. Enjoy live entertainment, field games, crafts, LGBTQIA+ resources, and much, much more.

Live Performances

This year’s entertainment is produced by The Pigeon Pack, a DIY music collective, and includes Zoe Briskey, The Canvas Collective, DJ Evangeline, Julia Her, JBLAZN and Cheeks Voila! (More details below.)

Program

Noon to 4:00 PM

GayRidge Pride will bring the music and good times all day starting at noon. We will also have face-painting, crafts, and LGBTQIA+ resources.

1:00 PM - Queer Pet March

Dress up your pet(s) and show off their Pride. The Queer Pet March starts at 1:00PM and all leashed pets are welcome. Check-in at the GayRidge Pride table before 12:30pm to register your pet to be included.

1:30 - 4PM - Live Performances

Live performances will begin at 1:30PM, following the Queer Pet March, opening remarks, and the annual GayRidge membership photo. The GayRide Pride 2024 stage will feature amazing entertainment produced by The Pigeon Pack. Lineup below!

3pm - Field Game Competitions

GayRidge members will have the opportunity to compete against one another, in a series of increasingly challenging field games, such as corn-hole and other summer classics.

DJ Evangeline

Evangeline is a trans Drag Artist, Event Producer, and DJ from Brooklyn New York. Throughout her 9 years in Queer Nightlife she has made a point to create artistically challenging performance spaces by and for trans people. Her work as a DJ began under the mentorship of DJ Accident report, and in her short time in the medium she has already found 3 monthly residencies & gigs all across NYC. GayRidge is super excited to have her as our DJ for this year’s GayRidge Pride.

JBLAZN

JBLAZN is a rising Pop artist, born and raised in Brooklyn, who has been making waves in the music industry with his unique blend of pop music. Drawing inspiration from artists who dip into the Y2K sound, he has managed to carve out a style that captivates fans and leaves them craving for more

The Canvas Collective

The Canvas Collective is an alt pop-rock band based out of Brooklyn, New York. They are proud to write and release songs that are very personal to them, with lyrical topics that highlight mental health awareness, interpersonal struggles, and queer/trans identity. Mandy Kessler on vocals/synth, Kris Wong on guitar, and Violet Sepe on bass.

Cheeks Voila

Cheeks Voila is an interdisciplinary artist, “with their eyes on a bright star somewhere far beyond the perimeter of this galaxy!”

Julia Her

Julia Her is a singer/songwriter/actress from Bay Ridge. Her original music combines flavors of pop, rock, and RnB, creating a unique and infectious sound. Julia is currently playing shows around the east coast and writing and recording original music.

Zoe Briskey

Zoe Briskey is one of the most exhilarating electronic-pop artists of this generation. Her clever and caring nature can be felt through her lyrics, which center around queer love and the discovery and empowerment of oneself.
